Terms of Service

Effective date: April 3, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ShellTab ("we", "us", "our"), a cloud terminal workspace platform operated at shelltab.dev. By accessing or using ShellTab, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the ShellTab platform, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you are using ShellTab on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Description of Service

ShellTab provides a collaborative cloud terminal workspace that includes:

  • Cloud-hosted terminal sessions with persistent Linux environments
  • NVMe persistent drives for file storage across sessions
  • Multiplayer terminal sessions with real-time collaboration
  • Organization and team management
  • AI agent integration for automated workflows

3. Account Responsibilities

  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and OAuth tokens.
  • You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
  • You must notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
  • You must be at least 13 years old to use ShellTab.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use ShellTab to:

  • Conduct any illegal activity or violate applicable laws
  • Mine cryptocurrency or run proof-of-work computations
  • Abuse compute resources (e.g., sustained CPU mining, resource exhaustion attacks, excessive bandwidth consumption)
  • Host or distribute malware, phishing pages, or exploit kits
  • Attack, probe, or scan other systems or networks from ShellTab infrastructure
  • Store or transmit content that infringes intellectual property rights
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' sessions, drives, or data
  • Resell or redistribute ShellTab access without written permission

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate this policy, with or without notice.

5. Intellectual Property

  • Your content: You retain all ownership rights to code, files, and data you create or upload to ShellTab. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.
  • Our platform: ShellTab, its design, branding, features, and underlying technology are the intellectual property of ShellTab. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer the platform.
  • License to operate: By using ShellTab, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and transmit your content solely to provide the service to you.

6. Payment Terms

  • Billing is handled through Stripe. By subscribing to a paid plan, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.
  • Plans are billed on a seat-based model with compute hours usage tracking.
  • Charges are billed monthly in arrears or in advance depending on your plan.
  • You are responsible for all charges incurred under your account, including compute usage by team members and AI agents.
  • We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis. Contact [email protected] for billing disputes.

7. Service Availability

ShellTab is provided on a best-effort basis. During the current beta period:

  • We do not guarantee any specific uptime or service level agreement (SLA).
  • We may perform maintenance that results in temporary service interruptions.
  • We will make reasonable efforts to notify you of planned downtime.
  • Service availability may vary by region.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • ShellTab is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service.
  • Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
  • We are not responsible for data loss due to hardware failure, though we take reasonable precautions including periodic drive snapshots.

9. Termination

  • By you: You may close your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon closure, your persistent drives and data will be scheduled for deletion.
  • By us: We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, engage in abusive behavior, or fail to pay outstanding charges. We will make reasonable efforts to provide notice before termination except in cases of serious violations.
  • Effect of termination: Upon termination, your access to terminals and drives will cease. You will have 30 days to export your data before it is permanently deleted, unless termination was for a serious Terms violation.

10. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via email or a prominent notice on the platform at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of ShellTab after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in Delaware.

12. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
